A Footballers Wage. Fair?

After watching the News a couple of days ago i saw a repport on Wayne Rooney and now he was leaving Manchester United and maybe even football alltogether. Recently it has come about that he has re joined Manchester United and has left us wondering wether it was because of pay, as the turn around was pretty sharp.

Premiership Footballers earn an average of £676,000 per year with bonuses of apearance in games of up to £5,000 even if they join a game as a last minute substitute and they get bonuses if their team wins a match. However these footballers are earning this wage with some clubs in major debt, surely they could work around that by putting some of their wage into the club also with the ecomomic crisis we are struggling out of a footballers wage does not seem fair when ordinary people work their hardest to raise a family on normally a minimum wage and all a footballer has to do is keep fit go to training and play a game of football every now and then and even if they lose a match they still get paid this absurd amount of money. There has recently been petitions to stop the amount a footballer gets paid as in a single week they earn more than a nurse would after 6 years of working and saving peoples lives after and more than an Army private would after 7 years on the front line of war.

Chile miners finally rescued.

Chile miners after being stuck nearly half a mile below the surface in a collapse that happened on the 5th of august have finally been brought back to the surface.

Rescuers had to drill a 6inch wide hole into the shelter where all 33 of the miners have managed to stay safe in which became the lifeline for the miners of supplies and fresh air.
The picture above is from the Sky News website, and shows the flags which family and friends put up at the site where the miners were underground. 33 of them were erected for each of the miners who were stuck.
I recently went to watch the film Buried, with Ryan Reynolds. he gets captured and wakes up in a box underground as small as a coffin, by people in iraq who will only let him out if they get 5 nillion. Hes left in the box thats been buried in the dessert with a phone which happens to be a Blackberry, a torch, a lighter, a knife and what he had in his pockets at the time his anxiety pills and a little bottle of water.
This for anyone is there worst nightmare, being buried alive and these miners were lucky to have alot of people helping to get them out even Nasa who provided the capsule in which the men came up to the surface with.
